Journals
I got involved in the second year of the Journal Quilt Project, sponsored by Quilts, Inc. and Karey Bresenhan. I made two journals for each month and then chose the better of the two to include in my nine that were displayed at the show. Two years later I finished the series, doing October, November, and December. One of my pieces is traveling with the book Creative Quilting: The Journal Quilt Project
(but has since returned home and is available here: July), I've donated several to various causes, some are not all that great, and I'm posting the remaining here as affordable art for sale. Click on the image to see a larger version.

Ventanas
Ventanas is the Spanish word for "windows". The image that inspired this series is from a photograph I took that showed a window frame mirrored within another window frame. This layering of vertical and horizontal lines and shapes captured my imagination and I have played with this image on and off for several years. At this point they no longer resemble windows but have become an abstraction that plays with the literal.
